A Study on the Removal of Ammonium Ion using the Sintered Material made of the Sludge from Water Purification Plant

Abstract
In this paper, as a method for recycling sludge from water purification plant, it was studied whether the removal of ammonium ion in waste water with sintered material which is made of sludge from water treatment plant was possible or not. In order to do this, the sludge sintered with 800¡É was put into the waste contained ammonium ion and then the changed concentrations of ammonium ion were measured by using ion-selective electrode. In the results, it was found that the removal efficiency of ammonium ion was not remarkably changed according to the sintering time and the removed amount of ammonium ion according to the input amount of the sintered material was increased at a fixed rate. But additional studies for a completely commercial use is demanded.
